Meet Anne
My passion for older adults and senior living started while watching my grandmother care for my grandfather in their own home. He suffered from early onset Alzheimer's and she managed to modify her home, arrange caregivers, and juggle all the demands of being his primary caregiver with such grace. I knew immediately that I wanted to enter this field and devote my life to helping caregivers like my grandmother find resources and comfort.
I earned my MS in Gerontology from VCU and decided I would enter the world of senior living. I started as an Executive Director in Training and then accepted my very own community. I ended up traveling to multiple communities as the "fixer", by increasing census, reducing overtime, increasing retention and increasing customer satisfaction; I fell in love. Watching the cultures shift inside the communities to one of unity and compassion was very rewarding, I knew I was making a difference. I eventually decided to get my Care Manager Certification as I not only enjoyed inside the community but I also enjoyed making a difference and helping those struggling to navigate the aging journey outside of the community. I always want to be the trusted resource for those weighing their care options and their next chapter.
I will never forget when I met my business partner, Torshie, in 2018 reviewing multiple files in an assisted living community. We said back then that we would someday have our own company where we could help many more older adults and businesses thrive. There is no one else I would rather have by my side helping families and older adults than Torshie. Anntor (Anne and Torshie, get it) was born out of our unwavering commitment to older adults and their families.

Meet Torshie
My journey into Senior Living started as a child watching my mom care for my grandmother and aunts. After graduating from the University of Florida, I moved back to Maryland to be closer to my family. In my spare time, I started volunteering at an Independent/ Assisted Living Community. This opened my eyes to a world of older adults wanting to maintain their independence but still needing care. I dove right in and never looked back. Senior Living has been my passion ever since.
After working in operations for 3 years, I fell in love with engaging older adults with meaningful activities and focused on dementia training. Shortly after, my father was diagnosed with early signs of dementia. My mom saying, “I don’t know what I would have done without you,” fueled my love of supporting families. Whether as a Community Relations Director, Activities Director, or Executive Director, I am happiest supporting older adults and their loved ones. Navigating firsthand the care of an older loved one and the relief of finding an option that worked best for my family is a feeling that I have connected with so many families over.
In the summer of 2018, Anne and I were in an office with piles of files around us. We spoke about creating our own business. We dreamed of supporting older adults and utilizing our talents to assist companies with better strategies and problem-solving. Over the years, we circled back to that day in the office. Anntor Golden Resources was created from our love for supporting older adults and our community.
